Professional chemical peels are great for maintaining and restoring your skin’s health and appearance. Performed by our licensed medical aesthetician, these deeply exfoliating treatments help resurface the upper layer of the skin to reveal fresh, vibrant skin underneath.
What is a chemical peel?
SkinCeuticals® chemical peels are performed by our aesthetician and work by exfoliating the surface of the skin to improve texture, radiance, reduce appearance of blemishes, and restore skin health.
How do chemical peels work?
Chemical peels slough off the outer layers of the skin to improve texture and appearance. During the treatment, the peel solution is applied to the skin for a specific period of time, depending on the chemical peel used, it’s concentration, and the patient’s skin type. The solution reacts with the outer layers of the skin to dissolve bonds that bind surface cells to the skin, revealing the new, healthy and smoother skin underneath. Most peels need to be neutralized upon completion of the treatment. A professional chemical peel is much more effective than exfoliating scrubs, brushes, or over the counter peels. The goal is to create a controlled, safe “injury” to the skin, which safely stimulates the skin to repair itself and reveal brighter, new skin.
How do I know which chemical peel is best for me?
Our aesthetician will recommend the formula and concentration that’s best for targeting your skin concerns, including fine lines and wrinkles, blemishes, enlarged pores and uneven skin tone. SkinCeuticals® chemical peels are available in many different strengths and formulations. AHA peels are often used to treat fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, and uneven texture. BHA peels are used to treat large pores, blemishes, and uneven texture. TCS peels can help with advanced signs of aging and discoloration caused by hormones, acne, or sun damage.
Who should perform a chemical peel?
It’s important that chemical peels are performed by a licensed aesthetician because they have access to peels that are effective, powerful and are clinically proven to deliver great results. Aestheticians are trained to select the depth and type of chemical peel that will work best for the patient’s skin type and condition of the skin to avoid potential side effects and to produce excellent results.
